Welcome to the website for Transformations: A Conference for Leonard Barkan. Here you will find the information about the conference program and schedule of events, many materials relating to Leonard’s publications, scholarship, and mentoring, and a “Liber Amicorum,” where we invite you to contribute notes, images, sentences, memories.

Transformations is designed as series of discussions organized topically around Leonard’s many interests, with four panels of six speakers each, and three longer individual talks. During the scholarly program, speakers will be taking up current questions that have shaped and been shaped by Leonard’s work, with the central goal of opening a collective conversation among all attendees.
